WebAnimator for Macintosh
1. The authoring tool and plug-in have been compressed with StuffIt. You
will need a copy of StuffIt Expander to decompress the download file before
installation. [Image] .
2. After decompressing the download file(s):
Authoring tool: Double-click to run the WebAnimator Installer. This will
install the application and plug-in to your hard drive. You will still need
to copy the plug-in into your browser's plug-in folder as described below.
Plug-in: Copy the file "WebAnimator Plug-in" into your Plug-ins folder
located inside of your browser's folder. Netscape (version 2.x or later), or
Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 2.x or later) is required to use this
plug-in.
3. If you are already using other plug-ins, it is likely that you have
already increased the size of your memory partition for Netscape. If you
have not done this, you should increase the Preferred size to at least
4,000K. How much memory the plug-in requires varies from Mac to Mac. To run
all the sample animated pages, you should increase Netscape's memory by
about 1MB.
4. Re-start Netscape, then try out a couple of animated pages.
5. After Authoring your own Animation - When you are ready to test your
animations and give access to other people, you will need to upload them to
the server. This server must be configured for the WebAnimator MIME type. If
you don’t have direct access to the server, you will need to give the
following information to the Webmaster or your Internet Service Provider:
* WebAnimator MIME type is "plugin/wanimate"
* Extension for the animations is ".wan"
Now you can view a few animated pages!!!!
